Reflective supervision, reflective consultation, and reflective practice are terms used for the approaches now considered best practices for providers, supervisors, and agencies where stress, secondary trauma, high turnover, and service quality are significant concerns. This interactive virtual training is designed for supervisors in the infant-family early childhood field, including mental health, early childhood education, home visitation, and other child and family services. Utilizing video, partner and small group exercises, participants will develop a comprehensive framework for understanding and employing reflective supervision for every aspect of one’s job, including brave space creation, mindful self-regulation, use of reflective questions to promote provider reflective capacity, and virtual facilitation engagement strategies for supervising a remote workforce.
Diane Reynolds, LMFT, CA Center-endorsed IFECMHS and RPF II, is a program developer and trainer in Mindful Parenting Groups and Reflective Practice/Supervision. She has spent the past 25 years introducing parents, providers, schools, and organizations to a mindful and reflective approach to care. Ms. Reynolds has authored several publications. Ms. Reynolds previously served as Executive Director of Center for Reflective Communities and launched Reflective Praxis Consulting in 2017 to support demand for professional development, organizational consultation, and transformational coaching in the burgeoning field of reflective practice and supervision. Ms. Reynolds currently supports (now virtual) home visitation staff for Los Angeles County DHS, DPH, and DPSS through reflective practice training and ongoing consultation. Additionally, Diane is a member of the Reflective Supervision Collaborative, where she is co-developing the first scalable, online reflective supervision mentor curriculum and training for multi-disciplinary providers in the field of infant early childhood mental health.
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
• Define Reflective Supervision & identify 3 distinct responsibilities of Supervisee & Supervisor
• Define reflective functioning & its importance to relationship security
• Describe brave space creation & its impact on workplace culture
• Identify how personal & social identities impact how one inhabits divergent workplace roles
• Use 3-4 specific, intentional reflective questions to unleash wisdom, generate collaborative strategies, & deepen staff reflective capacity
• Create explicit, collaborative agreements to support the supervisory relationship

Continuing Education Credits: up to 6 credits available for PSY, MFT, and LCSW’s

By registering for this training the agency is liable for the registration fee, which is refundable up to October 13, 2021 @ 9am minus the ~6% Eventbrite charge.
