David and Sharon Keller: Bringing Art to CII’s Kids

“Every week, I see growth, and that inspires me to keep coming back.”’

In 2008, David and Sharon Keller envisioned a new enrichment activity for children at CII—a Performing Arts program. The 12-week course was designed as a therapeutic release for the children of CII, many of whom struggle daily to overcome the devastating effects of violence, abuse and other forms of trauma. In addition to providing vision and support for the new program, the Kellers also give of their time. Every Saturday, with camera in hand, David attends the class to show his support for the children. “It’s amazing to see the changes in these kids,” he says. “Every week, I see growth, and that inspires me to keep coming back.”

The Kellers’ support for CII goes back a long way. David is a former member of the Board of Trustees, and Sharon is a member of CII’s premier support group, The Colleagues. For many years, the couple hosted Father’s Day events for the children and families in CII’s Project Fatherhood.
