February 8, 2021 – Racial Inequity and Injustice and Impact on Children and Youth Learning

April 26, 2021 – Community Resiliency Model
The Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® trains teachers to not only help themselves but to help others within their wider social network. CRM’s goal is to help to create “trauma-informed” and “resiliency- focused” communities that share a common understanding of the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system and how resiliency can be restored or increased using this skills-based approach.

May 10, 2021 – Risk Assessment and Mental Health First Aide
This training seeks to support teachers with recognizing the signs of student distress and providing support. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches participants how to assist people who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or is in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

June 7, 2021 – Shifting the Paradigm for Systems Change: Reframing Negative Behaviors as Stress Responses
We will examine how our cultural beliefs influence the way we interpret behaviors and how these beliefs can impact the way we respond to one another. We will reflect on ourselves and the parallel process of reframing these strongly held beliefs into a deeper understanding of human behavior as a means to drive systems change.

Virtual Teacher Mindfulness and Wellness Series –“Mindfulness Mondays”
Virtual Mindfulness Practice

In this eight week series, teachers will have the opportunity to connect and practice different mindfulness techniques. Each guided session will last for 30 minutes during which participants will be led in various forms of breathing, mindfulness and meditation exercises. You are encouraged to attend one, some, or all Breath & Be Sessions to explore how the development of a mindfulness practice can serve you and your students during this time.
