CBITS Clinical Training: Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Trauma in Schools

February 7, 2013

CBITS is an ideal trauma intervention for undeserved ethnic minority students who frequently do not receive services due to a whole host of barriers to traditional mental health services. This school-based program is designed to be delivered in school settings, whether it is in an urban or Midwestern public school serving a diverse student body or a religious private school providing outreach to an immigrant community. CBITS has been successfully used in a wide variety of communities because it can be flexibly implemented and addresses barriers such as transportation, language, and stigma.
