Compassion Fatigue “Train-The-Trainer” Program with Francoise Mathieu, M. Ed. CCC

Some participants of “Walking the Walk” have expressed an interest in bringing the workshop back to their communities and developing skills and knowledge base to deliver the workshop themselves. This “Train the Trainer” workshop offers tools, handouts, strategies, training material and marketing strategies to adapt “Walking the Walk” to the specific needs of your community (and to your own presentation style).

Who should attend:
Mental health providers, social workers, administrators from public and private agencies, law enforcement, and policymakers are invited to participate.

Compassion Fatigue Specialist Director, Workshops for Helping Professionals

Françoise is a certified Mental Health Counselor (Canada Counseling and Psychotherapy Association) and holds a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Toronto. She is the director of Compassion Fatigue Solutions, Inc., whose aim is to offer consulting and training to helpers on topics related to self-care, wellness, burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. Francoise’s experience stems from many years as a crisis counselor, working in hospital environments, community mental health, and university counseling service. Ms. Mathieu has authored The Compassion Fatigue Workbook (Routledge, 2012) and the Compassion Fatigue Train the Trainer Workbook (2008).

This training is a program of the S. Mark Taper Foundation Child Trauma Training Academy and presented by The Leadership Center at Children’s Institute.

Registrants must have completed 3 full days of approved Vicarious Trauma and Compassion Fatigue trainings to attend. Approved trainings include:

  1. Vicarious Trauma Conference, November 7, 2011
  2. Trauma Stewardship with Laura Van Dernoot Lipsky, March 14, 2012
  3. Walking the Walk: Creative tools for Transforming Compassion Fatigue, September 6, 2012
  4. Children’s Institute Inc.’s 8-week Vicarious Trauma Seminar

Proof of completion will be required upon registration. Other training may be approved upon request.

CEs are offered to PSY, MFT, LCSW, and BRN. Course meets the qualifications for 6.0 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Children’s Institute, Inc. provider #PCE 498. Children’s Institute, Inc. is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
