Father’s Day Volleyball Tournament

On Father’s Day Sunday, June 20, the beach was the place to be for volleyball fans—specifically fathers who paired up with their sons and daughters to challenge other family teams. The occasion was “The Father’s Day Volleyball Tournament” in Manhattan Beach and the cause was CII’s Project Fatherhood. The popular event is the brainchild of organizer Elise Johnson, who was moved by Project Fatherhood’s focus on connecting disadvantaged dads with their children. Her desire to boost support and visibility for the program is a dream come true. This year’s tournament doubled in size and attracted a broad audience, thanks in part to media coverage from KROC-FM, one of L.A.’s top-rated rock stations.
