About the Event:
A consultation workshop is a chance for Dina group leaders to meet together with other Dina group leaders and an accredited IY mentor or trainer to share their experiences delivering the IY program. They will do this by showing videos of their sessions for peer feedback and support. This process helps Dina group leaders to continue to improve their skills and become the best group leader/therapist possible. Below are some guidelines to help you prepare for a consultation day.

At the consultation workshops please be prepared to:

  • Bring a DVD cued up to show something you think went well and/or something you want some help with. Usually 10 minutes of tape is enough.
  • Bring and share a small group child activity that went well (can be an activity that a teacher or therapist designed).
  • Share ways you have offered small group activities or homework activities in developmentally appropriate ways.
  • Think about 3 of your most difficult therapy or teaching challenges as well as 3 of your successes.
  • Talk about ways you have involved parents in their children’s learning.

PLEASE NOTE Bring your Dinosaur Manual to the consultation day. Small group leaders should bring their whole manual. Group leaders working with the classroom program can bring just Book 4 (Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Units).
