January 26, 2016

This is not the full TFCBT PEI protocol, only the Booster. The full protocol will need to be completed in order for therapists to bill to PEI for therapeutic services. You will need to have an established TFCBT team where you can get weekly supervision in lieu of the required consultation calls, which CII does not provide. Supervision calls and/or audio reviews (necessary parts of the protocol) can be contracted with the national trainer, Ashley Labistour; currently that contract is not included in the below training.

About the Event
The Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Booster Training is for therapists who have already received the 2-day basic training and have been implementing the TF-CBT modality in their ongoing clinical work. The training will focus on practical application of the model components with particular attention to cognitive processing and the trauma narrative. We will also address certification criteria and how to maintain fidelity to the model while still incorporating your own therapeutic style and creativity.

Participants Will:

  • Treatment components and underlying rationale for each
  • Practice skills to implement each treatment component
  • Creative approaches for doing the trauma narrative
  • Strategies for addressing distorted/helpful trauma-related cognitions
