Consultation and Collaboration: A Conversation About Supporting Early Learners in Our Community

November 5, 2015

THIS TRAINING IS FREE! – Courtesy of PROJECT ABC

WHY EARLY CHILDHOOD MENTAL HEALTH CONSULTATION (ECMHC)? When young children experience trauma it impacts all aspects of their life. Young, DCFS-involved children benefit from quality early education, but can present with challenging behaviors. ECMHC aims to build the capacity of staff, families, programs, and systems to prevent, identify, treat and reduce the impact of mental health problems among children from birth to age 6 and their families (adapted from Cohen Kaufmann, 2000).
