Project ABC Presents: Walking the Walk: Creative Tools for Transforming Compassion Fatigue

January 23, 2015

This training is relevant for all professionals who work in the helping field. This includes mental health, DCFS, ECE, early intervention, and other providers who serve children and families who have experienced traumatic or stressful life events.

Compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma are characterized by exhaustion and a shift in a helping professional’s sense of hope and value at work. This highly interactive workshop will help participants develop practical strategies for identifying and dealing with the costs of caring in their personal, professional, and organizational lives.

• Key components of compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.
• How to develop a symptom checklist which targets areas for strategic planning.
• Evaluate your own self-care and identify triggers.
• How to build a personalized plan for identifying and treating compassion fatigue.
