| Description: | Responsible for providing a wide variety of individual, child family and group therapy; counseling; crisis intervention; and advocacy services to families, children, and other clients in accordance with their specific therapeutic needs. Gathers information, assesses needs and provides direct clinical and related therapeutic services to clients and/or their families. Researching and collecting data (e.g., health, educational, psychosocial / mental health treatment records; DCFS placement history; family history; Regional Center and juvenile justice information) to be included in the final assessment; prepares case history of client. Consulting with supervisors, case workers, teachers, child care staff, mentors and paraprofessionals to ensure clinical and case management needs and service quality are being met; conferring regarding client needs, community services and resources and effectively matching services and resources to the needs of clients. Advocating for clients including court accompaniment, court translations, and supporting clients to successfully navigate the criminal and civil legal process or to ensure satisfactory placement of child in foster care. |
| Qualifications: | MSW or MFCC degree (LCSW or LMFT license issued by the State of California is preferred). Two or more years of experience, post master’s degree, relative to the specific type of client he or she will be working with and/or therapy to be provided, including family patterns, practices, special needs, traditions and values of the ethnic and cultural groups served by the program. Supervision capacity and willingness to accept assignments, Demonstrated proficiency in an Evidence-based Treatment (e.g., one year supervised experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. |
