| Description: | Under supervision of supervision, substitutes for teachers when necessary. Ensures a safe environment for children; Provides nurturing care of children; Assists with children’s developmental activities; Monitors/Assists children in play/meal time activities and rest periods; may lift/carry children; Assists in developing age-appropriate lesson plans; Assists in planning schedules/activities; Monitors parent/child interaction;Reports unusual/inappropriate behaviors; Reports suspected/alleged child abuse; Maintains required documents/reports; Monitors children’s transportation; Attends clinical staff meetings; Performs other duties as assigned. |
| Qualifications: | Twelve (6 to 9) semester units required in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field including core courses (between 18 and 24 ECE units, child development permit preferred). One to two (2) years of relevant experience in a variety of areas including: direct care of children between birth and 5 years of age; some curriculum development and implementation. Experience with children and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. |
