| Description: | Under supervision of the Program Director, the Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing the care, development, and education of typically and atypically developing children. She/He is accountable for implementing a quality early education and care program and developing positive relationships with children, parents, and families. Provide support, guidance, direction and help monitor all activities within the center base program to assure quality services and that families are receiving comprehensive services. Teachers comply with the policies and procedures of Children’s Institute, Inc., State Department of Education, Child Development Division Funding Terms and conditions, Title 5 regulations and Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations. |
| Qualifications: | BA Degree in Child Development or related field with twenty-four (24) semester units or more in Early Childhood Education, plus three (3) semester units supervised field experience in an ECE or child care setting. Applicant must hold a Site Supervisor Permit within six months of employment and have at least three years of relevant experience in a variety of areas including: direct care of children between birth and 5 years of age, classroom management as the primary teacher, curriculum and program planning and implementation for young children, family support services, and assessment of individual children’s development, experience with children and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds required. Have a valid First Aid and CPR certificate issued by the American Red Cross, Heart Association, or other authorized agency. |
