Associate Teacher

| Description: | Under supervision of the Site Supervisor and indirect supervision of the Classroom Teacher, the Associate Teacher will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing the care, development, and education of typically and atypically developing infants and toddlers (birth to age 5). In full compliance with the policies and procedures of Children’s Institute International, State Department of Education, Child Development Division Funding Terms and conditions, Title 5 regulations and Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations. Assist the staff in implementing a quality early education and care program and in developing positive relationships with children, parents, and families. |
| Qualifications: | Twelve (12) semester units required in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field including core courses (between 18 and 24 ECE units preferred). Associate Teacher Permit. One to two (2) years of relevant experience in a variety of areas including: direct care of children between birth and 5 years of age; some curriculum development and implementation. Experience with children and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds required. Posses experience with children with a variety of disabilities a plus. Applicant must satisfy Title 22 requirements for a Teacher Assistant. |
